Wedding SEO Secrets That Win on Google + AI Search
Tech-free SEO tweaks that EVERY wedding pro needs in 2026
When wedding pros hear “wedding SEO,” I know you usually picture something technical and over your head. Code, plugins, keyword tools, the works.
But I’m here with the good news: some of the most powerful things you can do to get found in search in 2026 aren’t technical at all.
As a wedding SEO specialist at Sara Does SEO, I spend all day studying what actually works to get wedding businesses found on Google and in AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude. And a few of my favorite secrets require zero tech skills and zero SEO knowledge. You can do them yourself, this week.
These are the things most wedding pros aren’t doing, and the BIG secret is that they aren’t that tricky. 😉
Secret #1: Create a page for each service
I see one thing all the time that kills a lot of wedding pros’ SEO: Too many services, all dumped on one “Services” page.
When all of your offerings share one huge, general Services page, it’s really hard for Google to figure out what you want that page to rank for.
Let’s use a photographer SEO example. Say you photograph weddings, families, and newborns. If all of those details live on one “Services” page, Google doesn’t have a clear page to show to someone searching for “wedding photographer.”
Similarly for wedding planners, if you plan weddings, corporate events, and parties, you aren’t going to get one page to rank for all of those very different things.
It’s way better when you can give Google and AI tools separate, clear pages focused on exactly what a searcher is actually looking for.
So for the best visibility, I want you to build an individual page for each of your key services. Here’s how:
What goes on each service page
For a photographer, that means a full page about just wedding photography—no families, no portraits, no newborns mentioned. On it, include:
- Your approach
- Your process
- FAQs about that service
- Basic pricing information
- Where you provide that service
- Examples of your work
- Reviews from clients about that service
Bonus points if you can link to individual blog posts on your website that are relevant to that service, like real wedding blog posts.
This works for every kind of wedding pro
Are you an event planner who plans weddings, corporate events, and social parties? Create individual service pages detailing each of these separately.
Here’s the extra marketing bonus: Now you can write each page’s messaging for exactly who you want to book. No wedding-and-love language on the page where you’re trying to land a professional corporate event.
The same goes for an entertainment company offering DJ services, photo booths, and ceremony music. Create in-depth pages about each of those.
These pages are going to help you be clearly relevant as people do increasingly specific searches, especially with AI.
Secret #2: Type out your awards, features, and certifications
For years I’ve told wedding pros: if you’ve won an award, been featured in a major publication, or earned a certification, show those badges on your website’s homepage. Top-ranking websites consistently show off their awards and features.
BUT here’s the shift I’m making now: don’t stop at the badge.
If you want an AI robot to easily understand the awards you’ve won, written text is the best way.
Think about it– An image of a badge that says “Wedding MBA Certified” is hard for a search engine to understand. It doesn’t really know what that image is or what it means for your business.
So for every award, feature, or certification, I want you to type it out in plain text.
Here’s what that looks like:
Sara’s Photography was named Best Michigan Wedding Photographer by Southwest Michigan Magazine. Our work has been featured in Style Me Pretty and Modern Love, and we are Wedding MBA Certified.
That kind of paragraph is so easy for AI tools to read and hand right back to a searcher asking about your business. Much clearer than an image you’re hoping the tool can decode.
Where to put your written “awards” paragraph
I like to include this paragraph (along with a few relevant badges) on the Home page and About page. It’s not necessary to include in the footer of your website, which shows on every page and might become redundant.
Secret #3: FAQs are a winner
FAQs are something I recommend more and more in the age of AI search. Frequently asked questions give a search engine so much context about what you do.
Remember how people use tools like ChatGPT or Claude to make a decision. They’re asking a lot of questions, in a back-and-forth conversation.
If your website doesn’t have information that answers those questions, the tools have a harder time recommending you.
And if someone asks for a vendor with specific qualifications (willing to travel, or a fit for a certain type of wedding) that info has to be clear on your site for the AI tool to even consider you.
So I love adding FAQs right onto your service pages. (You’ve got those now, from Secret #1.) Include the real questions people ask about that specific service, and provide a clear answer for each question.
How do you think of good FAQs?
If you aren’t sure what questions to answer on your website as FAQs, here are a few ways to come up with them.
- Listen to what potential clients ask you on a sales call.
-
- In your initial conversation, what are couples asking you? What do they want to know about your service? What do they ask if it’s included? What concerns do they seem to have?
- Ask potential clients: “What concerns do you have about hiring a [service]?”
- As booked clients: “How did you decide to book me and what were you looking for?”
- As a last resort, ask ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini what questions potential clients might have about your particular service in order to make the decision about which provider to hire
- Don’t make this your default method, even though I know it’s easy! These tools are making up an answer based on language patterns, not giving you their data on what users are asking them. It’s way better to listen to what your ideal clients tell you!
Here are some sample FAQs for wedding pros:
- What’s included in your packages for [service]?
- What areas do you serve for [service]?
- Do you offer packages for [location] elopements or micro weddings?
- Do you travel and do destination weddings?
- Do you include [something specific to your service here— a second shooter, uplighting, tear down, delivery, etc]?
- Can I bring my dog?
- (for photographers) How would you describe your photography style?
- (for photographers) When will I get my final photos?
- (for planners) Do you offer day-of wedding coordination? (this is your chance to say yes, no, or explain why what you do is better!)
- (for DJs) Can you provide wedding ceremony music too?
- (for florists) How far will you travel for delivery and installation?
- (for venues) How many hours can we have the venue?
- (for venues) Do you have an outdoor ceremony location?
Secret #4: Get mentioned in “Best of” articles
This is the one secret that has nothing to do with your own website, and it’s super important.
It’s all about how AI tools pull from lots of sources to give one answer.
Let’s say your ideal client asks ChatGPT “Who are the best wedding photographers in [your location]?”
ChatGPT will load and read through multiple articles on this topic, looking for consensus. Which businesses keep coming up in the source material?
If you want your businesses to get recommended, you’ll need to be mentioned in multiple articles that the AI tool is using for information.
It’s not enough anymore for your business to exist only on your own website and social media profiles. You want your business mentioned as often as possible in any article that lists the best wedding pros in your area.
These “best of” articles may be on listing sites, local websites, national sites like Expertise or Peerspace, or other wedding pros’ blogs. What’s important to know is that this varies by market and by category.
So I can’t tell you “Go get mentioned on X website, and ChatGPT will recommend you.” You have to find the AI tool’s source material for your area.
How to find the “Best of” articles that matter
This is where you get to do your own test searching!
- Open ChatGPT or Claude or the tool you’d like to be recommended by.
- Ask a natural language question that you think your ideal clients would search for. Make it one that you’d love to get found for. You can start simple with something like “Who are the best wedding photographers in Austin?” (swap for your category and location)
- Click the sources link, if it exists (ChatGPT and Gemini are best at clearly showing you which articles were found and cited in the search)
- Scan through and make note of which articles are being used as source material. These are where the tool synthesized its answer from! You need to be on these too, if you can!
- Then, the tough job: You’ll need to get crafty to figure out how YOUR business can get included in those articles.
Digital PR is more important than ever. Figure out which articles the AI tools are pulling from, and get your business included in them.
Why search optimization will matter for wedding pros in 2027
Search engines and AI tools are getting better and more helpful for engaged couples every day. These busy, overwhelmed couples no longer have to sort through tons of results to find the answer they want.
With AI and personalization, it’s so easy for engaged couples to ask for exactly what they’re looking for. And then, they get a personalized response based on their wedding details, preferences, and personality.
The recommendations from search are even more personal and tailored than referrals and way less overwhelming than social media.
The era of search marketing for wedding vendors is here. Don’t miss it!
Jump in and get started with wedding SEO & AI search optimization!
None of these four secrets requires touching code or learning a single SEO tool. And every one of them helps you on Google and your odds of getting recommended in an AI search on ChatGPT, Claude, or wherever your couples are asking.
I’m excited for you to give them a try!
